The FC Vaslui ( Fotbal Club Vaslui ) is a Romanian football club from Vaslui . After a license withdrawal in the 2013/14 season , the club plays in Liga II , the second Romanian division.
history
In April 2002, the former FIFA referee Adrian Porumboiu submitted a takeover offer to the owner of Cerealcom , Gheorghe Strungariu, for Sportul Municipal Vaslui , a club it financed and which, under coach Adrian Hârlab, was fighting for promotion to the second division in Divizia C. . Strungariu turned down the offer despite the club's financial difficulties and unable to pay both players and coaches on time. In addition to three players, Hârlab also left the club at the beginning of May 2002. Sportul Municipal could not prevail against Poli Unirea Iași at the end of the 2001/02 season and was also awarded a ten-point win because the team withdrew from the field during the 26th matchday. Penalty with deduction. The local authorities lost interest in the heavily indebted club and instead offered the season winner of Divizia D from the Galați district and winner of the relegation, Victoria Galați , to play his third division home games in the Stadionul Municipal of Vaslui.
Under the leadership of Marius Stan, the former president of Oțelul Galați and AS Rocar Bucharest , the new Fotbal Club Vaslui was created in July 2002 . The first coach of the team, which consisted mainly of former players from Dunărea Galați , was Ioan Sdrobiș . While FC Vaslui was able to secure the support of numerous business people, including that of Adrian Porumboiu, Sportul Municipal Vaslui did not step in the following season 2002/03 after a failed merger attempt with the season winner of Divizia D from Vaslui County , Bicomplex Huși on. The FC Vaslui, however, managed to jump to the top of the table on November 30, 2002, but dismissed coach Sdrobiș immediately after the victorious home game against Bucovina Rădăuți due to a resolution already passed by the Board of Directors. On February 3, 2003, Ion Balaur , Remus Vlad's assistant coach at Gloria Bistrița , was appointed as his successor. At the end of the season, the promotion to Divizia B was established together with season winner Petrolul Moineşti and Laminorul Roman . President Stan then left the club because his contract with Adrian Porumboiu was no longer renewed, and was replaced by Teofil Iordachi. Coach Balaur accepted the offer from Dacia Unirea Brăila in July 2003 and was replaced on July 22, 2003 by Gigi Ion , the previous assistant coach of Costel Orac at Oțelul Galați.
Although the newcomer was at the end of the first half of the 2003/04 season in second place in the table, there was another change of president and coach on December 29, 2003: Eugeniu Goicea from Ploiesti came to the top of the club for President Iordachi and Gabriel Stan became a new one Head coach presented as successor to Gigi Ion. But after two games in the second half of the season, Stan gave up his post in March 2004. With Adrian Matei , a new trainer was first hired, but he did not have the necessary license and was therefore listed as a masseur on the score sheets. After the club management could not agree on individual contract details with Matei, this left the club on April 20, 2004 and was replaced by Ioan Sdrobiș. With this managed the FC Vaslui the second place in its first second division season behind Poli Unirea Iași. Sdrobiş led the team in the following season to the top of the table before he was dismissed on November 30, 2004, as he had stayed before the away game at Gloria Buzău for the second time in the first half of the season without a written certificate from the team. As a successor was brought on January 14, 2005 Mircea Rednic , with whom the relay victory and thus the promotion to the highest Romanian league, the Divizia A, succeeded. FC Vaslui was the first team in Romania to play first-class within three years of its formation.
During the promotion celebrations, coach Rednic announced that he was leaving the club because he had an offer from a Belgian club. On June 16, 2005 Basarab Panduru was introduced as his successor, but could only achieve a draw in the first five championship games of the 2005/06 season . After Panduru's resignation on September 11, 2005, patron Porumboiu brought promotion coach Rednic back to the table penultimate on September 13, 2005. With him, the league could be managed before him on June 12, 2006 his former club Dinamo Bucharest signed as head coach.
On July 5, 2006, Gheorghe Mulțescu was introduced as the new coach, but he resigned immediately after the home game against Politehnica Iași on September 24, 2006. From the tenth day of the 2006/07 season , Viorel Hizo coached the club. On June 7, 2007 he was replaced by Dorinel Munteanu , who was committed as a player- coach. Munteanu's contract was dissolved on March 31, 2008 and Emil Săndoi committed as a coach for the last eight games of the season. On June 10, 2008 Hizo returned and signed a two-year contract, but had to leave the club after the first 13 matchdays of the 2008/09 season . He was succeeded on November 1, 2008 by Viorel Moldovan . Since Adrian Porumboiu, the club's patron, had expressed himself several times regarding a possible withdrawal from the championship after the end of the 2008/09 season, Moldovan terminated his contract on May 26, 2009 early. Then Cristian Dulca , who was previously assistant coach under Hizo and Moldovan, took over the post of head coach until September 20, 2009. After Dorin Zotincă , who had coached FC Vaslui in a cup and championship game, the team was trained by Marius Lăcătuş from the end of September 2009 . He canceled his contract after losing the cup final in May 2010 in order to be able to move to his daughter in Spain in the summer of 2010. His successor was the Spaniard Juan Ramón López Caro on June 14, 2010 , who was suspended on October 8, 2010 and again replaced by Viorel Hizo. With this, FC Vaslui failed to qualify for the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League and then took part in the group stage of the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League . After the club was eliminated there in December 2011 and a training camp in Poiana Brașov had to break off under pressure from the players and relocate to Antalya , patron Porumboiu fired the coach on January 27, 2012 because he had shown solidarity with the players. Two days later, Portuguese Augusto Inácio signed a one and a half year coaching contract with FC Vaslui. He led the club to second place in the championship and thus the greatest success in the club's history.
In the 2013/14 season they were positioned in fifth place. However, the Romanian Football Association refused FC Vaslui the first division license for the 2014/15 season and moved him to League II .
