Juan Ramón López Caro (born March 23, 1963 in Seville ) is a Spanish football coach .

López Caro had coached Real Madrid's second team since the 2000/01 season , which he led to the Segunda División in the 2004/05 season . Previously, he had coached lower-class teams since 1992, most recently the reserve of RCD Mallorca before moving to Madrid . After the dismissal of Vanderlei Luxemburgo , the coach of Real Madrid's first team, in December 2005, he became his successor and initially received a contract until the end of the 2005/2006 season, which was then no longer renewed, which means Caro after this season was replaced by Fabio Capello in Madrid. From the beginning of the 2006/07 season he coached the Spanish first division club Levante UD , where he was on leave in January 2007. In October 2007 he finally took over the coaching position at Celta Vigo , but after the team moved more and more away from the promotions, he was also dismissed there in early March 2008 after only six months. From summer 2008 to 2010 he coached the Spanish U-21 national team . On June 14, 2010 he was coach at FC Vaslui , where he was suspended on October 8, 2010 and replaced by Viorel Hizo . After assuming the post of Technical Director of Saudi Arabia in 2012, he was appointed as the successor to Frank Rijkaard as the national coach of the Saudi Arabian national soccer team in January 2013 . In 2014 he was released from this position and was looking for work from then on. In mid-January 2016, he was introduced as the new head coach of the national soccer team of Oman , where he received a one-year contract under association head Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood AlBusaidi .
