Culture and sights
The most important building in the community is the village church ( kostel sv. Filipa a Jakuba ) consecrated to St. Philip and St. Jacob . It goes back to a Romanesque building and was rebuilt several times in later times. The church owes its current appearance to a major renovation in 1587, carried out by Thomassio Rossi di Mendrisio .
In the vicinity of the village, on the highest Katovice mountain ( Katovická hora , 493 m), there was an old Slavic castle wall , which was once called Kněží hora . It was built at the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries and served to secure the Strakonice basin. In Okres Strakonice there are three other systems of this type and testify to the strategically important location of this area.
