The first written mention of the village took place on October 18, 1045 in a deed of donation from Duke Břetislav I to the Breunau Abbey . Between the 14th and 15th centuries, Zvotoky belonged to the Winterberg estate . Later the village was divided between the Strakonitz and Wolin lords and the Dobrz estate . In the course of time there was another division, so that Zvotoky was ultimately divided between four landlords.
In 1840 Swotok or Swobotok / Zwotok consisted of 44 houses with 260 inhabitants. Of these, 15 houses belonged to the Strakonitz estate , 14 to the Wolin estate, eight to the Niemtschitz estate and seven to the Wolenitz estate . The parish was Wolenitz. Until the middle of the 19th century the village was always divided between four lords. The inhabitants lived from agriculture, which, however, was not very productive because of the stony fields.
After the abolition of patrimonial was Zvokotoky / Swotok combined and made 1850 a district of the municipality Skudra in the district administration and the judicial district Strakonice . Zvotoky has been used as an official place name since the beginning of the 20th century . In 1909 Zvotoky broke away from Škůdra and formed its own community. A school was established in 1920, and in 1928 a school house was inaugurated. The granite quarry on the Tyterec, in which high-quality blue granite was extracted, was the source of livelihood for many residents. In 1964 the village was again incorporated into Škůdra and on April 1, 1976 together with this to Strašice. After a referendum, Zvotoky broke away from Strašice on November 24, 1990 and formed its own municipality. 18 houses in the village are now used as holiday homes.
