The Novosedelský potok , also called Kolčava , is a right tributary of the Otava in the Czech Republic .
course
The Novosedelský potok rises in the hamlet Obnoží northeast of Strašín in the Bohemian Forest foothills . Its source lies at the eastern foot of the Stráň (720 m) or northwest of the V Luhu (711 m). The upper course of the stream runs through the Na Volešku nature reserve to the east. Along the stream are the small towns Parýzek, U Poulů, U Matějů, Lhota pod Kůstrým, Panské Mlýny, Na Bláních, U Rejšků and Prachař. At Nová Ves the Kolčava turns in a northerly direction and flows past Smítka and Předměstí to Zvotoky . The further course of the creek leads past Škůdra, Tažovice, Tažovická Lhota, Šebelovský Mlýn, Volenice , Štěchovice , Novosedly and Sloučín to the northeast. After 24.3 kilometers, the Novosedelský potok flows into the Otava in Liboč opposite Katovice .
In the past, the water power of the Novosedelský potok was used to drive numerous water mills. Between U Rejšků and Prachař there is the Kolčava camp with an outdoor pool by the stream. Shortly before its mouth, the Novosedelský potok is bridged by the České Budějovice – Plzeň railway line.
