Volenice (German Wolenitz ) is a village and a municipality in the Strakonice district and is located in southern Bohemia . The first mention goes back to the year 1227 . The place with 554 inhabitants has an area of ​​15.95 km² and is about 12 kilometers west of the city of Strakonice . It consists of the five districts Ohrazenice, Tažovice, Tažovická Lhota, Vojnice and Volenice.

The local trades include a shop, a fire station and the Košán construction company. On the square in the village center there is a fountain from 2000, a hand pump, a stone to commemorate the burning of Jan Hus in 1415 (built in 1915, restored in 2015) and a soldier memorial to victims of the First World War.
