Strunkovice nad Volyňkou [ ˈstrʊnkɔvɪt͡sɛ natvɔlɪɲkɔʊ ] (German Strunkowitz an der Wolinka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers south of Strakonice and belongs to the Okres Strakonice .

Geographical location
Strunkovice is located on the right bank of the Volyňka in the hilly landscape of the Bohemian Forest Foreland . The Kalný vrch (633 m) rises to the south-east. On the western edge of the village, the railway line from Strakonice to Volary runs along the river , where Strunkovice has a train station.

history
During the Iron Age, Strunkovice was part of the Hallstatt culture settlement in central Pootaví . Fortresses from the 6th century BC were built on Kalný vrch and Němětice. Exposed.
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1227.
