Hajany was first mentioned in writing in 1318 as the property of the Buzek von Rosental . From 1393 Hajany belonged to the possessions of Wilhelm von Želeč from the Landstein family , the parish at that time was Kocelovice. After Wilhelm's death the estate fell back to the Bohemian crown. King Wenceslas IV donated Hajany to the Dominican monastery Ústí in 1406 . Its abbot Havel sold Hajany in 1415. In 1430 , Hrdoň von Maršovice , who came from the Ústupenice branch of the Witigonen , used the suffix Hajany . In 1558 the Lords of Sternberg acquired the village of Hájany with a Kretscham and connected it to the Blatná rule. In 1579 the Rozdrazowsky counts of Rozdrazow became the owners of the estate. After Franz Ignaz Rozdrazowsky von Rozdrazow died childless in 1691, the counts Kolowrat -Krakowsky inherited the property. In 1709 Josef Count Serényi von Kis-Serény acquired the rule. The Count Serényi placed new burdens on the subjects. In 1716, the residents of Chlum and Hájany unsuccessfully complained about excessive labor against the stately civil servant Matěj Golba. In 1738 another rebellion broke out among the subjects in the rule, which was suppressed by the military. In 1798 the barons Hildprandt von und zu Ottenhausen acquired the rule.
In 1840 Hajan / Hagan consisted of 48 houses with 350 inhabitants. There was a mill and an inn in the village. To Hajan also included ten houses existing monolayer Řečitz ( Řečice ). The parish was Blatna. Until the middle of the 19th century, Hajan was always subject to the Blatná rule.
After the abolition of patrimonial Hájany / Hajan formed a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district of Blatná from 1850. The roads to Blatná and Lnáře became district roads in 1877. In 1898 a volunteer fire brigade was formed. The municipality has had the official name Hajany since 1924 . In 1940 the neighboring municipality of Chlum on the hill Škalí started a quarry. This was nationalized after the Second World War and continued to be operated by the Příbram stone industry . In the course of the cancellation of the Okres Blatná, Hajany was assigned to the Okres Strakonice in 1960. On January 1, 1974 the incorporation to Blatná took place. Since the beginning of 1994 Hajany has formed its own parish again.
