Drachkov (German Drachkow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers southwest of Strakonice in South Bohemia and belongs to the Okres Strakonice .

Geographical location
Drachkov is located in the hollow of the Drachkovský creek in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest . The Kamenná bába (557 m) rises to the southeast, the Kbíl (664 m) to the south, the Háj (530 m) to the southwest and the Mladiny (600 m) to the west. To the north is the Pracejovický rybník pond.

According to tradition, the court of Vladiken Drahka was located at the foot of the Kamenná bába hill .
Villa Dracow was first mentioned in writing in 1319 as the property of Wilhelm Bavor von Strakonitz . Since he had no descendants, in 1336 the Strakonitz rule was transferred to the Order of Malta in his will , which received it in 1356. In the Berní rula of 1654, eight farms and six gardeners are shown for Drachkov. In 1675 three farms burned down. In the first half of the 19th century, the place name changed to Drachkow . In 1840 Drachkow consisted of 22 houses with 145 inhabitants. There was a chapel in the village. The parish was Strakonitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained subservient to Strakonitz.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Drachkov / Drachkow 1850 a district of the municipality Pracejovice in the district administration and the judicial district Strakonice. At that time the village had 159 inhabitants. In 1921 Drachkov broke away from Pracejovice and formed its own municipality. In 1964 the village was again incorporated into Pracejovice. After a referendum, Drachkov became independent again on January 1, 1992.
