history

In 1492, King Vladislav II Jagiello gave Zdeniek Lev von Rosental permission to create a pond in the valley of Kostratecký potok near Střížovice. At the end of the 16th century, the Střížovický pond was enlarged. The new, significantly higher dam was built about a kilometer below the old dam at Myštice and the village of Zároždice was flooded. In the course of time, the Střížovický rybnik was referred to as a Labuť ( swan ) because of its shape .

In the second half of the 18th century, the Serényi Counts of Kis-Serény had a charcoal burner settlement built on Blatná above Labuť, which was first mentioned in writing in 1790 as Chobot. In 1798 the barons Hildprandt von und zu Ottenhausen acquired the rule. In 1840 the single-layer Chobot formed part of the village of Newčelitz ( Nevželice ) and was parish after Černisko ( Černívsko ). Until the middle of the 19th century, Chobot was always subject to the Blatná rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Chobot formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Vahlovice / Wahlowitz in the district administration and the judicial district Blatná. After the settlement had expanded in the following years, a distinction was made between two parts from 1880 onwards. Chobot 1. díl / Chobot 1. part belonged to the municipality Skaličany and Chobot 2. díl / Chobot 2. part belonged to the municipality Vahlovice. In 1900 the Chobot 3rd díl / Chobot 3rd share, which belonged to Uzenice in the judicial district of Březnice , was added. On August 11, 1919, the municipality of Váhlovice , which until then was the largest in area in the Blatná district, was divided. The municipality Myštice with the districts Chobot 2. díl, Nevželice and Střížovice was created. At that time there were about 200 people living in Chobot. In 1928 the village consisted of 30 houses with about 120 inhabitants. On April 29, 1928, the Chobot volunteer fire brigade was founded. In the course of the cancellation of the Okres Blatná, all three shares of Chobot were assigned to the Okres Strakonice. In 1964 Chobot 1. díl and Chobot 2. díl were umgemeindet from Skaličany and Myštice to Uzenice. On November 24, 1990 Chobot and Újezd u Skaličan broke away from Uzenice and formed the municipality of Chobot. Until November 1, 1993, Chobot 1. díl and Chobot 2. díl were shown as separate districts. A sports center was built between 1997 and 1999. Around half of the houses are used as holiday homes.
