Střelské Hoštice [ ˈstr̝̊ɛlskɛː ˈɦɔʃtɪt͡sɛ ] (German Strahl-Hoschtitz ) is a municipality in the Jihočeský kraj region (South Bohemian Region) and belongs to the Okres Strakonice .

Geographical location
The municipality is located on the left bank of the Otava River, five kilometers southeast of the small town of Horažďovice .
Community structure
The community Střelské Hoštice consists of the districts Kozlov ( Koslau ), Sedlo ( Sattel ), Střelskohoštická Lhota ( Lhota b. Strahl-Hoschtitz ) and Střelské Hoštice ( Strahl-Hoschtitz ).
history
The beginnings of the village, which was then called Hoštice , date back to the 13th century. During the time it belonged to the Střela manor, the village was called Střelohoštice. Since 1924 the place is called Střelské Hoštice .
A renaissance castle from the middle of the 16th century is still preserved . After renovations in 1928 and in the 1950s, when the military was the owner, attempts are now being made to preserve the old building fabric. The church of St. Martin, built in the classical style, was built in the 19th century.
In the area around Střelské Hoštice on the Otava River, traces of the gold panning period can still be seen.
