Libětice [ ˈlɪbjɛtɪt͡sɛ ] (German Libietitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers southwest of Strakonice in South Bohemia and belongs to the Okres Strakonice .

Geographical location
Libětice is located in the valley of the Libětický creek in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest. The Kamenná bába (557 m) rises to the north, the Hradiště (604 m) to the east, the Ostrá (595 m) to the south and the Kbíl (664 m) to the west.

Neighboring towns are Drachkov and Sousedovice in the north, Mutěnice and Radošovice in the Northeast, Přední Zborovice in the east, Strunkovice nad Volyňkou and Slukův Mlyn in the southeast, Němětice , Nihošovice and Pasečná in the south, Úlehle , Jetišov and Zahorčice in the southwest, Švejcarova Lhota and Kraselov in the West as well as Lhota u Svaté Anny and Smiradice in the north-west.
history
On the hill Hradiště was located during the late Hallstatt period and the Latène period between the 5th century BC. BC and the 1st century a Celtic fortress. This was probably created to protect the Amber Road route through the Volyňka Valley and is attributed to the domain of the Prince of Věnec . Between the 8th and 10th centuries there was a wooden Slavic fort on the hill.
The first written mention of Lubetize took place in 1243 as Bavor I. von Strakonitz the village together with Lom , Ptákovice, Miloňovice , Radošovice, Sousedovice, Mutěnice and Krty as well as the Church of St. Prokop and a house in Strakonice to the Johanniterspital in Prague . His wife Dobislawa left the church of St. Prokop in Strakonice established a formal convent of the Order of St. John and the villages of Makarov , Kozlov and Mnichov . In 1251 the donation was confirmed.
In 1840 Libietitz / Libětice consisted of 30 houses with 180 inhabitants. The parish was Strakonitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained subservient to Strakonitz.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Libětice / Libietitz 1850 a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district Strakonice. In 1964 it was incorporated into Sousedovice. After a referendum, Libětice became independent again on November 24, 1990.
In 2007, construction began on the transmission and observation tower on the Kbíl, which was opened the following year.
