Hlavňovice (German Hlawniowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located ten kilometers west of Sušice and belongs to the Okres Klatovy .

geography

Hlavňovice is located in the Svatoborská vrchovina ( Swatobor Mountains ), a sub-unit of the Šumavské podhůří ( Bohemian Forest Foreland ). The core town lies on the right side above the valley of the Čeletický potok brook. The Orlovská svodnice rises east of Hlavňovice. In the north rises the Borek (859 m), to the east the Výrovna (720 m), the Pahorek (716 m) and the Kaltský vrch (757 m), in the southeast the Bláhovsko (741 m), southwest the Pálenka (898 m) and the Svinenský vrch (970 m) and in the west the Kolářova hora (867 m). Hlavňovice lies on the edge of the Kochánov Nature Park. State road II / 171 between Sušice and Běšiny runs through the village .

Neighboring towns are Radostice and Velhartice in the north, Přestanice and Cihelna in the north-east, Maršovice and Libětice in the east, Pích and Suchá in the south-east, Sobíkov, Rovná and Zvíkov in the south, U Adamců, Javoříčko, Zámyšl and Čeletice in the south-west, Jvalonice in the west and Milínov in the northwest.

history

Hlavňovice was first mentioned in documents in 1428, when Ulrich II von Rosenberg sold the village to Meinhard von Neuhaus . Between 1566 and 1572 Sigismund Duppauer von Duppau ( Zikmund Doupovec z Doupova ) acquired the estate and had a fortress built, in 1572 he first used the title of Hlawniowitz . In 1577 Sigismund von Hlawniowitz bought the Blatna estate and sold the Hlawniowitz estate to Anna Kotz von Dobrz , née Bohuchval von Hrádek, whose husband Dětleb owned the nearby estate Volšovy. The estate was subsequently owned by the Kotz von Dobrz family without interruption for over 300 years. Until the middle of the 19th century, Hlawniowitz remained an independent estate.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Hlavonice / Hlawniowitz 1850 a district of the municipality Milinov / Milinow in the judicial district Schüttenhofen. From 1868 the village belonged to the district of Schüttenhofen . Ferdinand Ernst Kotz von Dobrsch was elevated to the Austrian baron status in 1869, he was the founder of the branch line of the barons Kotz von Dobrsch on Hlawniowitz. Hlavňovice has been used as the official Czech place name since 1880 . After the death of Ferdinand Ernst Kotz von Dobrsch, his widow Valeria ran the estate, and in 1905 she passed it on to her daughter Marie Valeria Pelikánová. In 1910, Hlavňovice consisted of 19 houses in which 166 people, including nine Germans, lived. The owner of the Hlavňovice manor was Otomar Pelikán from 1919 to 1946. In 1947 Hlavňovice was reassigned to Přestanice. In the course of the abolition of the Okres Sušice, Hlavňovice came to the Okres Klatovy in 1960 . In the same year the municipalities of Přestanice (with Cihelna, Hlavňovice, Horní Staňkov, Milínov, Orlov and Radostice), Pích (with Libětice), Suchá (with Puchverk) and Zámyšl (with Častonice, Čeletice, Javoříčko, Mokřany and Zvíkov) became the new Hlavňovice municipality merged.

Community structure

The municipality Hlavňovice consists of the districts Častonice ( Tschastonitz even Czastonitz ) Čeletice ( Tscheletitz even Czeletitz ) Cihelna ( Antoni village ), Hlavňovice ( Hlawniowitz ) Horní Staňkov ( Upper Stankau ), Javoříčko ( small Gaberl , formerly Gaberl ) Libětice ( Libietitz ), Milínov ( Milinau , also Milinow ), Pích ( Pich , formerly Picho ), Přestanice ( Pschestanitz ), Puchverk ( Puchwerk ), Radostice ( Radostitz ), Suchá ( Sucha , also Dürrendorf ), Zámyšl ( Samischl , also Zamysl ) and Zvíkov ( Schwegau ). Basic settlement units are Častonice, Čeletice, Cihelna, Hlavňovice, Horní Staňkov, Libětice, Milínov, Mokřany ( Moos ), Pích, Přestanice, Radostice, Suchá, Zámyšl and Zvíkov. Hlavňovice also includes hamlets and layers of Dolina, Jakl v Louce, Na Pile, Na Volešku, Orlov ( Worlow ), Píchovský Mlýn, Skalka, Skalský, Sobíkov, Spáleniště ( Brandstadt ) and U Adamců.

The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Častonice, Čeletice, Horní Staňkov, Milínov, Mokřany, Pích, Přestanice , Radostice u Hlavňovic, Suchá u Hlavňovic, Zámyšl and Zvíkov.

Attractions

  • Church of St. John of Nepomuk in Hlavňovice, built 1799–1808 south of the chapel, the simple single-nave building with choir and tower deviates from the usual eastward orientation and faces south.
  • Chapel of St. Adalbert on the village square in Hlavňovice, built in 1707, it has a hexagonal ground plan.
  • Hlavňovice Castle at the south-eastern exit of the village, it was built in the 17th century from the old fortress, later the baroque building was redesigned in a classicistic style. In 1780 a castle chapel was added, which was abandoned after the church was built. The castle is surrounded by a park and farm yard. House No. 26 belonging to the courtyard has a square tower with a weather vane. In 1946 the landowner Otomar Pelikán was expropriated and the castle and estate were nationalized. The chateau is in a very dilapidated condition and today belongs to the municipality of Hlavňovice.
  • Horní Staňkov Castle, the manor house built in the middle of the 18th century, was transformed into a chateau by Innocenz Kotz von Dobrz in the 1830s. In 1981 the Švankmajer couple bought the castle. Jan Švankmajer set up a studio in the building, which is protected as a cultural monument.
