Běhařov (German Wihorschau , formerly Wiharzau , Wihorau ) is a municipality in the Okres Klatovy in the Czech Republic . It is located twelve kilometers southwest of Klatovy .

Běhařov is located above the Úhlava valley in Chudenická vrchovina.
history
Běhařov was first mentioned in writing in 1352 when the fortress came into the hands of the Lords of Běhařov . The family held the village until the 16th century. Then it was owned by the Fremunt von Stropčice , and later the Měsíčký von Výškov. Other families followed, one of whom the Hubati of Kotnov built a one-story castle in the village. In 1839 the village had 516 inhabitants, mainly farmers and craftsmen. In 1918 the painter Alois Kalvoda bought the castle and adapted it for his summer school of landscape painting.
