Dolany (German Dolan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers northwest of the city center of Klatovy and belongs to the Okres Klatovy .

geography

Dolany is located on the left above the valley of the Úhlava in the Schwihauer Uplands ( Švihovská vrchovina ) and is traversed by the Poleňka brook. To the north rises the Běleč (712 m), in the northeast the Švábí (458 m), to the east the Malechovská hůrka (462 m) and the V Hřebenu (497 m), in the southeast the Smrčí (568 m), south of the Pleš (522 m) m), in the southwest the Malá Doubrava (719 m) and the Doubrava (727 m), to the west the Kněžská hora (555 m) and in the northwest the Bělýšov (651 m) and the Řičej (696 m). State road II / 185 between Klatovy and Koloveč runs through Dolany .

Dolany was first mentioned in a document in 1232 as the property of Drslav von Drslavice. From 1238 in Dolany was a branch of the Lords of giant mountain resident who built the powerful water-resistant, the ground plan of the castle Švihov was comparable, but only one Palas had. The Lords of Riesenberg held the Dolany estate until the end of the 15th century. The first written mention of the fortress took place in 1515 as the property of the brothers Zikmund and Jan Měsíček from Výškov. In 1631 Bořivoj Měsíček von Výškov sold the Dolany estate to Rudolf Čejka von Olbramovice. The next owner was from 1640 Katharina Wiedersperger von Wiedersperg , after which the estate belonged alternately to the Měsíček and Wiedersperger families. In the 18th century, the Klattau Jesuit College acquired the Dilany estate and used the festival as a summer residence. After the abolition of the Jesuit order , Dolany was placed under the administration of the study fund from 1773. The court chamber sold the estate in 1805 to Counts Czernin von und zu Chudenitz . Until the middle of the 19th century Dolany remained subject to the Chudenitz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Dolany / Dolan in 1850 with the hamlet Balkov / Balkow a municipality in the judicial district Klatovy. From 1868 the community belonged to the Klattau district . In 1961 Malechov (with Výrov), Řakom and Svrčovec (with Andělice) were incorporated.

Community structure

The municipality Dolany consists of the districts Andělice ( Andielitz , 1939–45: Engelsdorf ), Balkovy ( Balkow , 1939–45: Balkau ), Dolany ( Dolan ), Komošín ( Komoschin ), Malechov ( Malechow , 1939–45: Mallichau ), Řakom ( Rakom ), Sekrýt ( Sekrit ), Svrčovec ( Grillendorf ) and Výrov ( Wejrow , 1939–45: Wirnau ). Basic settlement units are Andělice, Balkovy, Dolany, Malechov, Řakom, Svrčovec and Výrov.   • Feste Dolany, built in the 15th century by the Lords of Riesenberg. It was mentioned for the first time in 1515 as the seat of Zikmund and Jan Měsíček von Výškov, who added a Renaissance wing to the complex. The Jesuits had a chapel added in the 18th century. From 1805 the fortress belonged to Counts Czernin von und zu Chudenitz , who sold it in 1852 for residential purposes. The ruin is not accessible, the attached residential buildings are today in a neglected condition.

  • Komošín castle ruins, the castle built in the 1st half of the 14th century has been desolate since 1510. In 1703 a chapel was built in the ruins. Residential houses were later built on the site. The remains of the keep were demolished after 1945. Gothic cellar vaults have also been preserved.
  • Fortress Svrčovec, it was built in the 2nd half of the 15th century by the owners of Komošín Castle as a new seat. It was first mentioned in 1510 when Jan Jeníšek von Újezd ​​bought the estate. A brewery was operated in the fortress from 1800 and a wool laundry from 1830. At the end of the 19th century it was divided into seven residential plots.
