In 1450 Racek Chlévec from Malšín owned Bezděkov. The fortress was conquered in 1450 and 1468; at the beginning of the 16th century it lay desolate. In 1555 Viktorin Pek von Římek renewed the fortress and added a large square tower. Later it was rebuilt in the Renaissance style. In the 18th century, the Klattau (district) captain Caspar Hermann von Künigl was the owner of Bezděkov. In 1820 Franz Korb von Weidenheim acquired the property. Under the basket of Weidenheim, the fortress was converted into a crenellated neo-Gothic castle with a tower in 1855 according to plans by Albert Ignaz Ullmann.
