history

Čímice originally consisted of two farms that belonged to the lords of Žichovice and Strakonice . Only after they were subdivided into parcels did a village emerge. The first written mention of the place took place in 1357, when Bušek von Welhartitz sold three Huben land. In 1418, the owner of the Žichovice share, Ulrich II von Rosenberg, sold additional hubs to settlers for 60 shocks of Prague groschen. In 1451 the widow of Markvart von Lčovice, Ulena von Kraselov, sold the Strakonice share to settlers. In 1455 she also sold the Lomec and Lipí forests. Johann III. von Rosenberg granted his subjects the ransom in 1516. In the middle of the 16th century Adam Labounský von Strašín owned Čímice, followed by Zikmund von Hradešín. A schnapps distillery was operated in Čímice since 1761. In 1760 a forge started operations.

In 1838 Zimitz and Cimice consisted of 62 houses with 471 Czech-speaking residents. Of these, 36 houses belonged to the Schichowitz Fideikommissherrschaft and 26 to the Strakonitz dominion . There was a branch school, two mills, an oil press and a board saw in the village. The parish was in Nezamislitz . In 1846 part of the village burned down. Then three brick factories were built in Čímice. In the Niederdorf there was the U Krčmáře tavern , which served Schichowitz beer. Six fires broke out between 1846 and 1862, and a total of 47 of the 63 houses were destroyed. Until the middle of the 19th century, Nezamislitz was always divided between the Schichowitz Fideikommissherrschaft and the Strakonitz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Čimice / Zimitz formed a community in the judicial district of Schüttenhofen from 1850. From 1868 the community belonged to the district of Schüttenhofen . In 1874 the fourth brick factory started operations. The Na Kovárně tavern opened in the former smithy in 1883 , where Strakonice beer was served. Two years later, the third inn was built on the site of the former poor house. In 1879 there were 763 people in Čimice . At the beginning of the 20th century, Cimice t. Čimice used as a Czech name, the current name Čímice was introduced in 1924. In the course of the abolition of the Okres Sušice, Čímice was assigned to the Okres Klatovy in 1960. Between 1980 and 1991 the village was incorporated into Žichovice . The municipality of Čímice has existed again since January 1st, 1992. Today Čímice consists of 119 houses, 69 of which are permanently inhabited. The village is on the Via Nova pilgrimage route .
