Ježovy Castle

history

Ježovy was first mentioned in a document in 1251 as the property of Bohuslav von Ježov from the Lords of Drslavice, a courtier of Margrave Ottokar II Přemysl . The lords of Ježov held the estate until 1425; this was followed by the Vladiken von Luby, who got the title Ježovský von Luby. Its branch expired in 1496, and the new owners of the estate were the Nebílovský von Drahobuz. In 1518 the Ježov Fortress was first mentioned as the seat of Mikuláš Nebílovský. Mikuláš Nebílovský and his son Adam had a new, larger fortress with a moat built below the old fortress, which can be documented for the first time in 1592. The Nebílovský of Drahobuz were able to enlarge the estate, at the end of the 16th century it included the fortress, the courtyard and the village of Ježov, the fortress and the village of Černíkov and the villages of Trnčí, Slatina and Lučice. The next owner was Johann Christoph von Račín, who sold the estate to Heinrich Czernin von und zu Chudenitz on Švihov in 1615 . In the middle of the 17th century, the fortress was redesigned in the Renaissance style. Johann Hermann Czernin von und zu Chudenitz, who had inherited the estate in 1663, had the fortress transformed into a baroque palace. His daughter had to cede the over-indebted property to Ferdinand Franz Graf von Morzin in 1738, who added it to his rule Merklin . Later owners of the estate were the lords of Kolowrat and the counts of Pálffy . Until the middle of the 19th century Ježov was always subject to the Merklin rule,

After the abolition of patrimonial Ježov / Gežow formed a municipality in the judicial district of Přestitz from 1850. From 1868 the community belonged to the Přestice district . The current place name Ježovy has been used since 1924. In the course of the municipal reform in 1961 Trnčí (with Chlumská) was incorporated and the municipality assigned to the Okres Klatovy . At the beginning of 1980 it was incorporated into Chudenice . Since November 24, 1990 Ježovy has again formed its own municipality.

There is an extensive quarry on the Krušec.

Community structure

The municipality Ježovy consists of the districts and cadastral districts Chlumská ( Chumska ), Ježovy ( Jeschow ) and Trnčí ( Trntsch , 1939–45 Dorn ).
