Kovčín , until 1995 Kozčín (German Kotschin , formerly Kowčin ), is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eleven kilometers northeast of Plánice and belongs to the Okres Klatovy .
geography
Kovčín is located on the left bank of the Kovčínský creek in the Nepomucká vrchovina ( Nepomuk Uplands ). To the north rises the Vráž (615 m), in the northeast the Buková hora (600 m) and the Čárky (598 m) and southeast of the Oumyšl (573 m). The Kozčínský rybník pond extends to the southeast. The railway line České Budějovice – Plzeň runs on the eastern edge of the village .
Neighboring towns are Činov, U Havlíka, Pod Vráží, U Cihelny, and Vránovic Mlýn in the north, Nekvasovy , Stupovka and Oselce in the northeast, Kvášňovice in the east, Osek, Maňovice and Olšany in the southeast, U náždraží and Milčnice in the south, Louwest in the south, Myslív and Draha in the west and Nový Dvůr, Polánka , U Jandů, Baníř and Kramolín in the northwest.
history
In the 12th and 13th centuries, the Nepomuk Monastery on Vráž was mining for tin and gold. It is believed that the name of the village is derived from it. In 1614 the pond was created.
The first written mention of the place comes from the berní rula of 1654. At that time the Rundling consisted of eight farms.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Kovčín / Kowčin 1850 a municipality in the judicial district Planitz. From 1868 the community belonged to the Klattau district . In the same year traffic on the railway line České Budějovice – Plzeň was taken up, but Kovčín received a train stop only in the 20th century.
In 1924 the place was renamed Kozčín . From 1949 the municipality belonged to the Okres Horažďovice, after its abolition in 1960 it was reassigned to the Okres Klatovy . Between 1976 and 1991 was Kozčín after Myslív incorporated. Since January 1st, 1992 Kozčín formed its own municipality again. Since July 1, 1995, the village has used its old name Kovčín again .
