history

Maňovice was probably founded by the Knights of Maň in the 13th or beginning of the 14th century. The place was first mentioned in writing on April 23, 1366 in a document about the settlement of the border dispute between Bušek von Osek and the provost of the Zderaz monastery and the pastor of Velký Bor, in which the Kmet Machon from Manovice participated as a local expert. Marsson Manyon , also known as Marzion Man , sold the estate to Slawko and Zdenko de Oslecz in 1394 . The neighboring village of Osek died out in 1420 during the Hussite Wars .

The next mention of Maňovice comes from the berní rula of 1654. At that time, the village belonging to Jiří Kryštof Kokořovec from Kokořov on Woselecz consisted of nine farms, one of which was desolate, and an equally desolate Kretscham . In 1671 the Kokořovec von Kokořov sold the Woselecz estate to Jindřich Vilém Vitanovský of Vlčkovice, who sold it to Jiří Vojtěch Janovský of Janovice in 1679. In the Theresian cadastre from 1757 Maňovice is listed with nine farms, a smithy and a manorial inn. When house numbering was introduced in Maňovice in 1770, 22 houses were recorded. The Janovský von Janovice held the rule of Woselecz until 1807. Subsequent landlords were Anton Zürchauer, from 1808 Philipp Anton Baron von Bibra and from 1832 Franz Anton von Boos zu Waldeck . The parish was Kvášňovice. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village remained subject to the Wosseletz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Maňovice / Maniowitz 1850 a municipality in the judicial district Horažďowitz. In the second half of the 19th century, a number of cottages and gardeners were created in the village , whose residents earned their living as stone breakers and stone masons. Several granite quarries were built in the area around Maňovice. From 1868 the community belonged to the Strakonitz district .

From 1949 Maňovice belonged to the Okres Horažďovice, after its abolition in 1960 it was reassigned to the Okres Klatovy . In 1961 it was incorporated into Pačejov , between 1976 and 1991 Maňovice belonged to Velký Bor as a district . Since January 1st, 1992 Maňovice has again formed its own municipality.
