Horská Kvilda (German Innergefild ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 17 kilometers west of Vimperk and belongs to the Okres Klatovy .

geography

The scattered settlement of Horská Kvilda is located in the Bohemian Forest in the Hamerský potok valley basin and is surrounded by large moorland areas. The Sokol ( Antigelberg , 1253 m) rises to the southwest and the Březová hora (1193 m) to the south.

Neighboring towns are Zhůří in the north, Churáňov and Zadov in the northeast, Vydří Most and Nové Hutě in the east, Kvilda in the south, Horní Antýgl, Korýtko and Filipova Huť in the southwest, Rokyta in the west and Horní Hrádky in the northwest.

history

The large forest area, which is at an altitude of about 1070 m above sea level. M. from Haidl ( Zhůří ) and Goldbrunn ( Zlatá Studná ) over the Hanifberg ( Tetřev ), Diebstein ( Lapka ) and Antigelberg ( Sokol ) to the Schwarzberg ( Černá hora ) in the south, was formerly known as the Gefielde . The field was originally part of the Bohemian border forest. In 1318 the southern part was given to the Johanniter monastery in Strakonice . Johann von Luxemburg left the northern part to the free mountain town of Reichenstein in 1345 . Since this partition was placed between the outer ( Kvilda Gefielde discriminated) and the inner (Innergefild).

The first indications of a settlement in the inner area come from the time when the trade route from Schüttenhofen via Reichenstein to Passau was built in the 14th century. At that time, gold soap was used in Hammerbach. The first documented information about the Innergefild settlement on the Goldener Steig comes from 1577.

The inhabitants of the mountain settlement lived mainly from glassmaking and woodcutting. The Antiglhütte was located in the municipality and the Vogelsang / Podlesí, Philippshütte / Filipova Huť, Haidl / Zhůří and Tiefenthal / Hluboká glassworks were in the vicinity. They all had a great need for firewood and wood for making potash .

In 1838, the village of Innergefield , located in a large clearing between the Antigelberg and the Ranklau, consisted of 43 houses with 390 inhabitants. In the village there was a branch school under the patronage of the town of Bergreichenstein, as well as two mills and a board saw on the Gefielderbach. Some houses were individually in the forest on the slopes of the Antigelberg and the Windischberg. Because of the altitude, no farming was possible in the village, there were only meadows and pastures. The parish was Aussergefield . Up until the middle of the 19th century, Innergefield remained subordinate to the Dominium Bergreichenstein .

After the abolition of patrimonial Innergefild formed from 1850 a district of the community Ziegenruck in the judicial district Bergreichenstein. From 1868 the village belonged to the district of Schüttenhofen . In 1869 the village consisted of 39 houses and had 415 inhabitants. In 1880, the municipality of Innergefild was established with the districts of Antigl, Haidl, Goldbrunn , Grantl, Ranklau and Schrollenhaid. The Czech place name Horská Kvilda was introduced in 1924; the prefix Horská ( mountain ) does not refer to the altitude in the Bohemian Forest, which is also given in Kvilda , but to the historical affiliation of the inner regions to the mountain town of Kašperské Hory . In 1930 the community had 624 inhabitants; 511 of them lived in the 62 houses in the core town of Horská Kvilda. In 1938 Innergefild fell to the German Reich through the Munich Agreement and was part of the Bergreichenstein district until 1945 . In 1939 there were 662 people in the community. After the Second World War , the majority German-speaking inhabitants were expelled and their property was confiscated by the Beneš Decree No. 108 . In 1949 Horská Kvilda was assigned to the newly formed Okres Vimperk. The village of Horská Kvilda had 186 inhabitants in 1950, 53 in 1961 and only 21 in 1980. In the course of the territorial reform of 1960, Horská Kvilda came to Okres Klatovy and was incorporated into Modrava . From 1980 Horská Kvilda belonged as a district to the municipality of Srní . Horská Kvilda has existed again since November 24, 1990.
