The area of the moor covers 156 hectares, of which 103.5 hectares have been under nature protection since 1973. The moor lies on the watershed of the Otava and Moldau. Also Schei Diges cotton grass , mud sedge and bog blueberry are native here. Rare animal species include forest birch vole and alpine shrew .

history

In 1933 a zone of 34 hectares was placed under nature protection. This was expanded to 103.5 hectares in 1973, and a two-storey observation tower and a 600 m long wooden walkway with a nature trail were created from which the moor can be viewed.
