history

Nezdice was first mentioned in a document in 1396, but the village is much older. Even before Reichenstein was elevated to the status of a royal mountain town in 1345, parts of Nezdice, Ostružno and Pohorsko belonged to the mountain settlement. Another part of the village was part of the Žihobce rule . At the beginning of the 16th century, their owners included the Lords of Riesenberg , then Christoph Kotz von Dobrz , and from 1609 Ludmilla Kotz von Chudenitz. She was succeeded by Jaroslav Bukovanský Pinta von Bukovany, whose property was confiscated after the Battle of White Mountain and given to the imperial colonel Martin de Hoeff Huerta. Subsequently, various imperial military personnel took turns, including Ferdinand Freiherr von Lanau as owners. In 1710, Johann Philipp von Lamberg bought the Žihobce estate with the villages of Žihobce, Nezdice, Ostružno, Rozsedly, Věštín, Strašín and Ždánov from Anna Franziska Iselin and added them to his Žichovice estate . He was succeeded by Franz Anton Reichsfürst von Lamberg , who raised the combined property to a Fideikommiss in 1716 . This was followed by his son Johann Friedrich Reichsfürst von Lamberg in 1760, who died in 1797 without heirs. With the extinction of the imperial line, their dignity, goods and offices fell in 1804 to Johann Friedrich's nephew Karl Eugen († 1831) from the younger line of the Lamberger, who was elevated to the position of imperial prince of Lamberg, baron of Ortenegg and Ottenstein on Stöckern and Amerang. His eldest son Gustav Joachim Fürst von Lamberg took over the inheritance in 1834.

In 1838 Nestitz or Nezditz consisted of 71 houses with 592 Czech-speaking residents. Of these, 45 houses belonged to the Schichowitz Fideikommissherrschaft , the remaining 26 houses with 212 residents belonged to the Bergreichenstein dominium . In the Schichowitz share there was an inn, two mills with board saws and an oil press; apart was the single-layer Pareska ( Parezí ) , which consisted of two houses . An inn and a mill with a board saw were located on the Bergreichensteiner part. Several limestone quarries were operated in the area. The parish was Strashin . Until the middle of the 19th century, Nestitz was always divided between the Fideikommissherrschaft Schichowitz including the estates Raby , Budietitz , Žihobetz and Stradal as well as the Dominium Bergreichenstein.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Nezdice / Nezditz 1850 with the districts Záluží and Ždanov a municipality in the judicial district Schüttenhofen. From 1868 the community belonged to the district of Schüttenhofen . On August 11, 1925, the Nezdický potok swelled to a torrential stream after heavy rain and devastated Nezdice. The district of Ždánov fell into desolation after the Second World War. In the course of the abolition of the Okres Sušice, Nezdice was assigned to the Okres Klatovy in 1960. In 1961 Pohorsko and Ostružno were incorporated. Since 1992 the municipality has been using the official name Nezdice na Šumavě to better distinguish it from the municipality Nezdice, which at that time also belonged to the Okres Klatovy .
