history

Archaeological finds show that the area was settled in the 1st century BC. Chr. Ostružno was probably created in the course of inland colonization as a border village on the edge of the unpopulated border forest. Even before Reichenstein was elevated to the status of a royal mountain town in 1345, parts of Nezdice , Ostružno and Pohorsko belonged to the mountain settlement. The first documentary mention of Ostružno did not take place until 1450. In addition to the Reichensteiner share, the rest of the village belonged to the Žihobce lordship . At the beginning of the 16th century, their owners included the Lords of Riesenberg , then Christoph Kotz von Dobrz , and from 1609 Ludmilla Kotz von Chudenitz. She was succeeded by Jaroslav Bukovanský Pinta von Bukovany, whose property was confiscated after the Battle of White Mountain and given to the imperial colonel Martin de Hoeff Huerta. Subsequently, various imperial military personnel took turns, including Ferdinand Freiherr von Lanau as owners. In 1645 Ostružno consisted of 15 properties. In 1710 Johann Philipp von Lamberg bought the rule Žihobce with the villages Žihobce, Nezdice, Ostružno, Rozsedly, Věštín, Strašín and Zosum from Anna Franziska Iselin and added them to his rule Žichovice . He was succeeded by Franz Anton Reichsfürst von Lamberg , who raised the combined property to a Fideikommiss in 1716 . This was followed by his son Johann Friedrich Reichsfürst von Lamberg in 1760, who died in 1797 without heirs. With the extinction of the imperial line, their dignity, goods and offices fell in 1804 to Johann Friedrich's nephew Karl Eugen († 1831) from the younger line of the Lamberger, who was elevated to the position of imperial prince of Lamberg, baron of Ortenegg and Ottenstein on Stöckern and Amerang. His eldest son Gustav Joachim Fürst von Lamberg took over the inheritance in 1834. In 1788 Wostružno consisted of 30 houses, which were divided between the Schichowitz rule and the town of Bergreichenstein.

In 1838 Wostružno or Ostružno consisted of 31 houses with 177 Czech-speaking residents. Of these, 23 houses belonged to the Žihobetz estate and eight houses with 55 inhabitants, including an inn belonging to the Bergreichenstein estate . In Wostružno a productive limestone quarry was operated. The parish was Albrechtsried . Until the middle of the 19th century, Wostružno was always divided between the Fideikommissherrschaft Schichowitz including the estates Raby , Budietitz , Žihobetz and Stradal as well as the Dominium Bergreichenstein.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ostružno formed a municipality in the judicial district of Schüttenhofen from 1850. From 1868 the village belonged to the district of Schüttenhofen . A lime kiln, lime and marble quarries and a brick factory were operated near Ostružno. In 1874 an Austrian company began extracting marble blocks for monuments in the quarry on Kokšův vrch, and a diorite quarry was also established . The school was built in the same year. In the course of the abolition of the Okres Sušice, Ostružno was assigned to the Okres Klatovy in 1960. On April 30, 1976 it was incorporated into Nezdice .

In 1991 Ostružno had 90 inhabitants. In 2001 the place consisted of 64 houses in which 57 people lived. Ostružno has a total of 79 houses.
