history
The village of Předslav with the parish church was first mentioned in writing in 1352 as the property of Jeník von Předslav. However, both are much older. Since the former main portal of the church dates between 1240 and 1250, it is assumed that it was built in the first half of the 13th century. According to ancient traditions, the church is said to have been built on a Celtic sacrificial site. The Předslav parish was abolished in the 17th century and the church was closed as a branch of the Němčice parish. Předslav remained an independent estate until the beginning of the 18th century, after which the owners came from various regional families of the lower nobility. In the 15th century, they included Beneš from Újezdec and Ondřej and Půta from Předslav. At the transition from the 15th to the 16th century the manor belonged to Karel Říčanský, later Bavor and Anna Sádlo von Kladrubec acquired most of the property. In 1704 Karl Albrecht Příchovský of Příchovice acquired the goods Mlázovy and Předslav and united them with Otín. In 1735 Victoria von Unwerth bought the Otín and Předslav estates and added them to her lordship of Obitz . In 1788 a parish was established again in Předslav. In the 19th century there was a brewery and distillery in the Předslav Fortress.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Predslava / Předslaw 1850 a municipality in the Klatovy district and judicial district Klatovy. From 1868 the community belonged to the Klattau district . At the beginning of the 20th century the municipality had the Czech name Předslava t. Předslav, since 1924 is Předslav used. On July 1, 1975 Makov, Petrovičky and Měcholupy were incorporated, at the beginning of 1976 Němčice (with Hůrka and Třebíšov) was added.

- The Church of St. James and Philip in Předslav was probably built in the 1st half of the 13th century, according to tradition on a Celtic sacrificial site. In the years 1611, 1724 and 1767–1768 the originally Gothic church was redesigned and expanded. In 1809 the owner of the Otín estate, Jan Měchura, had the mighty church tower added. The neo-Romanesque main altar was destroyed in a fire in the church in 1965. The heavily dilapidated church was renovated between 1999 and 2005. The church is surrounded by a cemetery and is at the highest point in the village. A linden avenue leads from the church to Otín, it was laid out at the beginning of the 18th century by Karl Albrecht Příchovský von Příchovice and is now also known as Palacký avenue. Inside the church there are three medieval tombstones, one of which commemorates Eva Sedlecký of Újezdec († 1560).
