history
The area was settled as early as the Stone Age, the first settlement in the Middle Ages by Slavs . The first written mention comes from 1284. At that time Blovice (earlier also Blobitz, Blewicz, Blowicz, Blouicz ) was a market town and belonged to the Cistercian monastery in Pomuk . In 1420 the village was pledged to the Lords of Schwamberg and in the 15th century to those of Sternberg . Zdeněk Konopišťský ze Šternberka obtained the town's first privileges from King George of Podebrady in 1465 . In the 16th century the town passed through a few hands until it was acquired by Hans Kolovrat , an advocate of Bohemian culture and the Bohemian national idea , at the beginning of the 19th century .
