Dnešice (German Dneschitz ) is a municipality with 765 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers southwest of Dobřany and belongs to the Okres Plzeň-jih . The cadastral area is 1424 ha.
geography
Dnešice is located 372 m above sea level. M. below the confluence of the Lažanský potok in the valley of the Dnešický potok . The place extends around the hill Hůrka (425 m). To the north-east lies the Utopený rybník ( Drowned Pond ), which is fed by the Suchanovský potok, behind which lies the clay pit of the Chlumčany Ceramic Works.
Neighboring towns are Bayerův Důl in the north, Chlumčany in the northeast, Horní Lukavice , Dolní Lukavice and Zastávka in the east, Žerovice and Přeštice in the southeast, Oplot and Soběkury in the south, Přestavlky in the southwest and Černotín in the northwest.
history
The first documentary mention of the place comes from a deed of donation from Vladislav I to the Kladruby monastery from the year 1115. The St. Wenceslas Church can be traced back to 1352. During the Hussite Wars , the place and the church were looted. The parish comprised the villages of Oplot , Soběkury , Přestavlky , Černotín and Lažany. The pastor Simon František Alexia Janota started keeping church records in 1685. In 1811 the church received a new tower.
