Míšov (German Mischau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers east of Spálené Poříčí in the Brdy Forest and belongs to the Okres Plzeň-jih . The cadastral area is 988 ha.

geography

Míšov is located at 620 m above sea level. M. at Bílý potok in the western part of the Brdy forest . State road 19 between Pilsen and Rožmitál pod Třemšínem runs through the village, which is located in a forest clearing .

In the north, Míšov is surrounded by the Brdy military training area. There are also the two Padert ponds (Padrťské rybníky) and the ruins of the Benedictine monastery Teslíny, three kilometers to the northeast. To the south are the mountains Nad Maraskem (800 m) and Kobylí hlava (756 m) with the Hengst castle ruins . Neighboring towns are Teslíny in the east, Planiny in the southwest, Borovno and Dolní Borovno in the west and Číčov and Hořice in the northwest.

history

The first documentary mention of Míšov, which arose in the course of the colonization of the Brdywald by the Rosentaler , comes from the year 1349. During the Hussite Wars , the village was devastated and abandoned.

The repopulation of Míšov took place after the construction of a glassworks at the end of the 17th century as a settlement for the ironworkers. At the beginning of the 18th century, Count Václav Hynek Vratislav z Mitrovic built the Bělohrad manor at the northern end of Míšov.

Míšov grew quickly and there was an upper and a lower village. In 1788 the settlement consisted of 26 houses in which 257 people lived. In 1843 the village already had 322 inhabitants and the number of houses had grown to 40.
