history
The first written mention of the village and the fortress Nebílovy was in 1327, the owner was Racek z Nebílova. At the end of the 14th century, when she married Anna z Netunic, both noble families were united and the Netunický z Nebílov family emerged. Anna's son Vílem Netunický z Nebílov became one of the most important personalities in the Pilsen region. The strict Catholic founded the monastic settlements of Střížovice and Blovice together with Abbot Arnold of the Pomuk Monastery . During the Hussite Wars he fought on the side of the Catholics and in 1425 and 1433 reinstated Catholic clergy in the Prusíny Church. During this time, the place suffered severe devastation by the Hussites and in 1434 Nebílovy was sacked by the Taborites during the siege of Pilsen . His son of the same name, Vílem the Younger, had to cede his ownership claims to the Pomuk villages to a trustee in 1454. In the 15th century the property fell to the line of the Nebílovský von Drahobuz and the heiress Marianne sold Nebílovy to Ladislav Běšín z Běšin. In the 16th century the brothers Jan and Hynek Netunický administered the property on Netunice. The manor was acquired from their heirs in 1575 by Peter Freiherr von Hertenberg . Other owners were Jan Hradištský z Hořic and his widow Anně Pouzarovná z Michnic, who sold it to Marianne Kokořovec on Svárov and Šťáhlavy in 1604 . Her husband Karel Kokořovec von Kokořov united the manors Nebílovy and Šťáhlavy. After Marianne's death in 1624 an inheritance was divided and Kryštof Karel Kokořovec received the Nebillauer share. In 1670, with the death of the feeble-minded Johann Adam Kokořovec, the Nebillau line of the family died out. In 1673 the Prague citizen Servatius Engel Freiherr von Engelfluss became lord of Nebílovy. His son Arnold Alois Engel von Engelfluss sold the manor in 1685 to Count Jan Jindřich Kokořovec von Kokořov, who united it with Netunice and Šťáhlavy and had to sell it to Field Marshal Adam Heinrich von Steinau in 1705 because of excessive indebtedness . In the same year, Steinau commissioned Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt to draw up the construction plans for the conversion of the old Renaissance fortress into the baroque Nebillau Castle , which he built after completion of the construction work by the Pilsen master builder Jakob Auguston the Elder . J. made his retirement home. His daughter, Countess Maria Theresa von Vrtba , sold Nebílovy to Antonia Czernin von Chudenitz on Šťáhlavy in 1715 and the third union of the two lords took place. Jan Vojtěch Czernin, who inherited the property from his father Hermann Jakob in 1784, had the ruined castle restored between 1784 and 1789. In 1797 the village had 380 inhabitants. Jan Vojtěch died with no descendants and his inheritance fell in 1816 to Christian Vincent von Waldstein from the Wartenberg line of the family, whose interest was exclusively in the Šťáhlavy manor and the Nebillau Castle fell into disrepair.
After the replacement of patrimonial Nebilau became an independent municipality on June 3, 1850, which had belonged to the Pilsen district since 1855. In 1877 Leopold Pleninger leased the domains Nebilau, Nettonitz and Borek to Kolinetz for 12 years. In 1883 a chapel with a bell tower was built in the village. In the 1890s repairs were made to the castle and the town had 350 inhabitants. Until the castle and the domain were owned by the Waldsteiners. During the land reform of 1924, the estate was divided.
In 1964 the village was incorporated into Netunice and since 1990 it has been independent again. In 1967 the castle was nationalized and the first conservation measures were initiated. In 1992 the castle returned to the ownership of the municipality and has been open to the public since 1998.
