Nová Ves (German Neudorf ) is a municipality with 219 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located 10 kilometers southwest of the city center of Pilsen and belongs to the Okres Plzeň-jih . The cadastral area is 400 hectares.

The place on the outskirts of Pilsen is 347 m above sea level. M. in the Pilsen hill country. On the eastern periphery of the freeway leads D 5 / European Route 50 past and to the west lies the airfield Plzeň / Líně . In the south, in the Radbuzatal, are the facilities of the disused coal mine Grube Hugo.

Neighboring towns are Sulkov in the north, Valcha in the northeast, Lhota in the east, Dobřany in the south, Vodní Újezd ​​in the southwest, Červený Újezd ​​and Zbůch in the west and Líně in the northwest.

history

Nová Ves was first mentioned on January 25, 1591 in the basic register of the Chotěšov monastery . In the course of the 17th century, the pure farming village grew from three to 22 farms in 1670. The residents were exclusively Germans.

After a coal store was found in 1870, a mine was operated. The coal union built a housing estate for its workers. Mining also changed the population structure in the village, and the Czech mining families soon made up the majority of the population. The village school was opened in 1887.

The village road was built in 1927 and the swampy pond in the center of the village was also removed. In 1951, a large part of the agricultural land was transferred to the army, which built a military area west of the village. The place has been independent since 1989.
