Zemětice (German Semietitz , also Zemetitz ) is a municipality with 263 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located eleven kilometers west of Přeštice on the Merklínka and belongs to the Okres Plzeň-jih .
geography
Zemětice is located 375 m above sea level. M. in the Merklínka Valley in the Pilsen Hills. State road 182 between Stod and Merklín runs through the village . The Dražský rybník reservoir to the northeast serves as a swimming pond.
Neighboring towns are Čelákovy and Chalupy in the north, Dolní Lažany in the northeast, Soběkury in the east, Merklín and Bijadla in the south, Horní Kamenice , Dolní Kamenice and Vytůň in the west and Holýšov in the north-west.
history
The first written mention of Zemětice from 1115 turned out to be a forgery of the Kladruby monastery . However, this date is confirmed in a real document from 1239. The village remained monastic property until 1309, when it was pledged to Břetislav von Riesenberg in return for his protection of the monastery property around Přeštice . Later the village came as a pledge to the Chlumčanský on Přestavlky . During this time a fortress was established, which after 1544 fell with the relocation of the aristocratic residence of Zikmund Chlumčanský to Bijadla. In the 17th century Zemětice became part of the Merklín manor . After the replacement of patrimonial, the place became an independent municipality in 1850. In 1920 there were 402 people in the village.
