Mohelnice (German Mohelnitz ) is a municipality with 70 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers southeast of Nepomuk on the Víska river and belongs to the Okres Plzeň-jih . The cadastral area is 294 hectares.
geography
The place is located at 430 m above sea level. M. on a hillside on the left bank of the Víska, which is dammed on the southeast edge of the village in Mohelnický rybník. To the south of Mohelnice, the European route 49 / state route 20 from Nepomuk to Blatná passes.
Neighboring towns are Tojice and Čmelíny in the north, Podhůří in the southeast, Bezděkovec and Želvice in the south and Mileč and Třebčice in the west.
history
The first written mention of Mohelnice comes from the year 1552. The place belonged to the manor Vrčeň and later came to the Cistercian order in Nepomuk. After the dissolution of the monastery, Mohelnitz belonged to the Zelená Hora estate . The berní rula shows nine farmers and three gardeners for Mohelnice. In the 18th century a mill was built that was apparently not operated very successfully, because the miller was said to be "poor and not working" . In 1920 there were 200 people in Mohelnice.
In 1961 Čmelíny , Víska and Třebčice were incorporated .
