history

The first written mention of Oplot comes from the year 1243. The owner was the local noble family von Oplot. The Roupov family has been settled on Oplot since 1437. At the end of the 15th century the Roupovs, who owned Oplot until 1570, acquired the meadows of the desert village of Horušany from the Soběkury rule . After the Oplot line of the Lords of Roupov died out, the property was divided and one part was sold to the Dolany family. The other part received Mikuláš Šic on Drahenice, who had the fortress Poříčí built.

In 1616 Šic bought the goods in Nedanice. After the Battle of the White Mountain , his property was confiscated and sold to Philipp Adam von Kronberg in 1623 . Kronberg united its share with the rule Červené Poříčí . His descendants sold the property to Duke Clemens Franz in Bavaria. In 1677 the Chotěšov Monastery acquired the share belonging to Dolany and brought German settlers to the area deserted in the Thirty Years War.

In 1838 there were 335 people in Oplot. After the landlords were replaced, the place became an independent municipality in 1850. In 1900 the village had 530 inhabitants and by 1920 that number rose to 670.

In 1901, during construction work in Oplot, a container with 360 Prague and Meissen groschen from the 14th century was found.

In 1960 the Okres Přeštice was dissolved. Oplot was incorporated into Dnešice and assigned to the Okres Plzeň-jih . Since 1991 the community has been independent again.
