Chlum is a municipality with 201 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers northwest of the city of Blovice and belongs to the Okres Plzeň-jih .

geography

Chlum is 496 m above sea level. M. at the foot of the Pahorek hill on the ridge between the Úslava and Olešenský potok valleys . State road 20 from Pilsen to Nepomuk runs east of the village .

Neighboring towns are Chouzovy and Želčany in the north, Vlčtejn and Chlumánky in the northeast, Zdemyslice in the east, Seč in the southeast, Únětice in the south and Střížovice in the west.

history

Chlum was first mentioned in a document in 1379. The village is probably older and was founded around 1100 after the Wildstein Fortress.

In 1904 the local volunteer fire brigade was founded . Chlum had its own school since 1929. In 1938 there were 378 inhabitants in the village. The school was closed in 1981 and the building has since been used as a kindergarten for Chlum and the surrounding areas.
