Chlumy (German Chlum ) is a municipality with 102 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers southeast of Nepomuk and belongs to the Okres Plzeň-jih . The cadastral area is 370 hectares.
geography
Chlumy is located 506 m above sea level. M. on the hillside of a small side valley to the right of the Nekvasovský potok. To the northwest rises the 601 meter high Čihadlo, in the northeast lies the Tisovník (627 m).
Neighboring towns are Bezděkovec and Zhůřec in the north, Kotouň in the northeast, Oselce in the east, Stupovka in the southeast, Kvášňovice in the south, Nekvasovy in the west and Barankův Mlýn, Černý Mlýn, Pohankův Mlýn and Voděra in the north-west.
history
Chlumy was first mentioned in 1558 and belonged to the Grünberg rule . To the south, in the valley of Nekvasovský potok, at the site of today's single-layer Stupovka, there was previously the village of Neustupovice, which has been deserted since 1536 . Eight farmers and four gardeners are designated for Chlumy in the berní rula .
In 1920 there were 277 people in the village.
Attractions
- Classicist chapel of the Virgin Mary on the village square, built in the first half of the 19th century
- Chapel of St. Margaret on Markétin vrch (662 m) on the road to Oselce , built in 1691 by Jiří Vojtěch Janovský. After it was desecrated in the course of the Josephine reforms, it was rebuilt by the Boos-Waldeck family.
