The first written evidence of the existence of Čmelíny can be found in the erection books (Erektion libri ) from 1384, in which Ervín de Stmelin was mentioned several times as a witness to the establishment of clerical institutions.
The village belonged to the lands of the Pomuk monastery and after its destruction in 1420 it belonged to the Grünberg rule , whose owners were the Schwanbergers and, from 1464, the Sternbergers . When the rule was divided, Čmelíny came to the Nepomuk share in 1584 .

Between Čmelíny and Víska ran the historical border between the Pilsen and Budweiser district, later it was that between the political districts of Blatna and Pschestitz . Since the territorial reform of 1960, both communities belonged to the Okres Plzeň-jih and in the same year the local fire brigades united. Both villages, which are only about 100 m apart, merged in 1961 to form the municipality of Čmelíny.
On January 1, 1964, Čmelíny was incorporated into Mohelnice . Since 1992 the place with its district Víska has been independent again.
