Měcholupy (German Miecholup ) is a municipality with 192 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers northwest of the city of Nepomuk and belongs to the Okres Plzeň-jih . The cadastral area is 1291 ha.
geography
The village is located 505 m above sea level. M. in the headwaters of a left tributary of the Úslava . The European route 49 / State route 20 leads through the village from Pilsen to Nepomuk . The Buková hora (650 m) rises northeast of Měcholupy.
Neighboring towns are Dubeč and Klášter in the southeast, Prádlo and Novotníky in the south, Chvostule and Kokořov in the southwest, Jarov in the west and Čabuzí and Zhůř in the northwest.
Měcholupy is a popular location for photography because of the panorama over the Úslava Valley to the Zelená Hora Castle .
history
Měcholupy was first mentioned in a document in 1558. However, the place is much older. The village probably belonged to the possessions of the Pomuk monastery and after its destruction in 1420 came together with most of the villages in the area to the rule Grünberg .
After the replacement of patrimonial Měcholupy became an independent municipality in 1850.
