Štěnovický Borek (German Borek b. Stienowitz ) is a municipality with 366 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers southwest of the town of Starý Plzenec and belongs to the Okres Plzeň-město . The cadastral area is 1163 ha.

Štěnovický Borek is 412 m above sea level. M. on the right bank of the Čižický potok in a wooded hilly landscape.
Neighboring towns are Losiná in the northeast, Nebílovský Borek and Chválenice in the east, Nebílovy in the south, Předenice in the southwest, Čižice in the west and Štěnovice in the northwest.
history
The village of Borek has been documented since 1379. The old aristocratic manor was divided between the Štěnovice and Nebílovy dominions in 1700 and both shares were given separate names to distinguish them. Štěnovický Borek was parish to Prusíny , Nebílovský Borek to Chválenice . The now common name Štěnovický Borek was created in 1916 and the other part was named Nebílovský Borek in 1923.
A holiday home area was built on the brook southwest of the village.
Between Nebílovský Borek and Planiny there is a granite deposit , the rock of which is of very good quality and has been mined since the beginning of the 18th century. The stone found u. a. Used in the construction of the Kozel Castle and the St. Martina Church in Chválenice . Granite rollers with a diameter of one meter and a length of up to six meters are manufactured especially for German paper machine manufacturers. There are two quarry ponds next to the quarry in operation.
Until December 31, 2006 the place belonged to the Okres Plzeň-jih .
Community structure
The municipality of Štěnovický Borek includes the district Nebílovský Borek ( Borek b. Nebillau ) and the hamlet V Lipí.
Attractions
- The baroque chapel of St. Adalbert on Planiny, east of Nebílovský Borek, was built in 1685. It is a national cultural monument . Every second Sunday of the year there is a parish procession. According to legend, St. Adalbert asked for rain on his knees on his way back from Rome and depressions in the stone are said to have been created by the impressions of his knees.
