Kyšice (German Kyschitz , also Kieschitz ) a municipality with 819 (July 3, 2006) inhabitants in the Plzeňský kraj region .
location
Kyšice is located 8 kilometers east of Pilsen . The D 5 motorway runs 2 kilometers from the municipality.
The village, originally agricultural, turned into a small industrial community where metal ores were extracted and clay is still mined for the ceramic industry today. There is also an artificial lake nearby, which was created after the ore mining was completed when the excavated landscape of the open pit was submerged.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1336 as the court and castle of the lords of Pistau, the lords of Smědčice, and later the feudal lords of Kych, who were appointed administrators of the royal court.
Mining of ores began in the 16th century. After the Thirty Years War , production was interrupted and only resumed in 1662. The mines were then finally closed after the First World War .

Personalities
The Stermber dynasty comes from Kyšice, whose most famous personalities were the painters Josef and Otakar Štember.
