Valentina Mikhailovna Lituyeva

Valentina Michailowna Litujewa ( Russian Валентина Михайловна Литуева , born Valentina Bogdanova ; born February 28, 1930 in Leningrad , † April 4, 2008 ) was a Soviet athlete . With a height of 1.63 m, her competition weight was 59 kg.

Under her maiden name Bogdanowa, she won gold in the long jump at the European Championships in Brussels in 1950 with 5.82 meters . She was 19 centimeters ahead of runner-up Wilhelmina Lust from the Netherlands.

After her marriage, Valentina Litujewa took part in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki. With 5.65 meters she finished 11th. In 1952 she won her only title of Soviet champion with 5.98 meters.

At the European Championships in Stockholm in 1958 , she won silver again with 6.00 meters. Liesel Jakobi from the Federal Republic of Germany won with 6.14 meters . With 6.10 meters, Litujewa set her personal best two weeks after the European Championship in Moscow.
