history

Archaeological finds from the Celtic era on the Rovenská hora bear witness to the early settlement of the area . Javor was first mentioned in 1379. Later owners of the village belonging to Klenová Castle were Wilhelm Švihovský von Riesenberg from 1525 and Zdeniek Lev von Rosental from 1534 . Since 1547 there was a castle with the town and farm Klenová , the desert fortress and the village Týnec , the desert fortress Bezděkov, the farm and the village Bezděkov and the villages Javor, Loučany, Koryta, Hynkovice, Hořejší Želiv and Datelov existing rule of Klenová under the compulsory administration of the creditors of Adam Lev von Rosental. In 1549 one of them, Adam von Sternberg, bought the rulership. In 1553 he sold them to Georg Harant von Polschitz and Weseritz. His sons Christoph and Adam shared the rule in 1585 each half. In 1617 Adam's son Johann Georg d. J. one half; the other belonged at that time to Wilhelm von Klenau, who had taken it over from his mother Magdalena Harant von Polschitz - a sister of Adam and Christoph. With Johann Georg d. J. Harant's death fell to the Crown of Bohemia in 1637 , which Georg Adam Borsita von Martinic enfeoffed. In 1640 he also acquired the other half from the von Klenau family. Martinic joined the rule a little later with the Opálka rule .

In 1669, the united rule with the castles Opálka and Klenová, the fortress Bezděkov, the small towns Strážov and Klenová, 18 villages and eight farms were sold to Karl von Sternberg , who sold them to Count Paul von Morzin in 1673. His son Ferdinand Matthias von Morzin divided the united rule again in 1699; the Klenová manor included the Klenová castle, the town of Klenová and the villages of Loučany and Javor. The property then changed hands in quick succession and the castle was left to decay. In the 18th century the Klenová manor was temporarily part of the Bystřice nad Úhlavou estate. In 1832 the owner of the Chodenschloß - Kauth estate , Eduard Graf von Stadion-Thannhausen, acquired the Klenau estate; from 1838 it belonged to Franz Wenzel Veith. Javor remained subservient to Klenau until the middle of the 19th century.

After the abolition of patrimonial Javor and Loučany formed from 1850 districts of the municipality Klenová in the judicial district Klattau. From 1868 both villages belonged to the Klattau district . Javor and Loučany broke away from Klenová in 1897 and formed the municipality of Javor. In the course of the municipal reform, Javor and Loučany were incorporated into Týnec in 1961 , and from 1980 both villages belonged to Janovice nad Úhlavou . Since November 24, 1990, Javor has again formed its own community.
