history

In 1785 the rafters Franz Denk and Franz Weber from Schlösselwald built on the Gold Trail glassworks, after the owner of the domain in the valley of Hanifbaches Stubenbach , Philipp Graf Kinsky , as Philipp hut was named. The hollow glass produced by the Philippshütte , consisting of a furnace , was, however, not very bearable. After Joseph II von Schwarzenberg had acquired the rule of Stubenbach in 1799, he had the Chinitz-Tettau flood canal built in order to be able to exploit the wood wealth of the Bohemian Forest by means of rafting inland. He bought the unprofitable glassworks and had it shut down. In its place, Joseph II von Schwarzenberg had the 17-house logging settlement Philippshütte built on the road from Bergreichenstein to Passau in 1800 , which was the highest settlement in the Bohemian Forest. The settlement continued to grow gradually; the southern location was called Breite Hütten , the houses in the Grandl ( Korýtko ) on the northeastern edge of the village belonged to the Bergreichenstein dominium .

In 1838 Philippshütten consisted of 25 scattered houses with 224 inhabitants. There was a stately hunter's house and a mill in the village. The parish was Aussergefield . Philippshütten remained subservient to Stubenbach until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial Philippshütten formed from 1850 a district of the community of Stubenbach or Stadlern II. Share in the judicial district of Hartmanitz. From 1868 the place belonged to the district of Schüttenhofen . In 1880 Philippshütten had 1620 inhabitants. In 1924 Philippshütten , Preisleiten , Pürstling , Mader and Rachelhütte broke away from Stubenbach and formed their own community, which was initially called Preisleiten. In 1930 there were 469 people living in the parish; the population was mostly German-speaking, there was a Czech minority of 12 people. In 1934 the community name was changed to Philippshütten / Filipova Huť . After the Munich Agreement , Filippshütten was added to the German Empire. From 1939 to 1945 the community belonged to the then Bavarian district of Bergreichenstein . In 1939 the community had 450 inhabitants. After the Second World War , the village was largely evacuated in the course of the expulsion of the Germans from Czechoslovakia and their property was confiscated by the Beneš Decree No. 108 . The repopulation with Czechs succeeded only to a small extent; most of the houses remained uninhabited and were later demolished; the district of Preisleiten was completely abandoned. In 1948 Filipova Huť was incorporated into Horská Kvilda and assigned to Okres Vimperk. In the course of the territorial reform of 1960, the municipality of Modrava was formed and assigned to the Okres Klatovy . The chapel was demolished between 1962 and 1964. On January 1st, 1980 Filipova Huť was incorporated into Srní together with Modrava . Since November 24th, 1990 Filipova Hu gehört belongs again to the municipality of Modrava. In 1991 Filipova Huť had twelve residents. In 2001 the place consisted of five houses in which 14 people lived. Filipova Huť consists of a total of 26 houses.
