Shock (coin)

The shock was a bill of exchange in the Kingdom of Saxony as well as in Bohemia and Silesia .

In the Kingdom of Saxony one differentiated according to the old counting measure 1 shock = 60 pieces:

Also in Bohemia and Silesia one knew different shocks (Czech kopa ):

  • 1 old Bohemian shock = 60 Bohemia, it was worth 32 speciestalers = 3 convention guilders = 180 kreuzers;
  • 1 new / small Bohemian shock = 40 Bohemia = 23 old Bohemian shock, this was 1 speciestaler = 2 convention guilders = 60 double cruisers;
  • 1 shock Gröschel = 60 Gröschel = 14 old Bohemian shock, that corresponded to the value of 34 convention guilders = 45 kreuzers = 180 pfennigs .

The Groschen in Prague and Bohemia were called Bohemia, and Gröschel was also called bats .
