Welhartitz (noble family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lords of Welhartitz (Czech Páni z Velhartic ) were a Bohemian noble family, whose origins go back to the 12th century and which descended from the Vladiken von Bor and Zdouň. In addition to the ancestral seat Velhartice , they also owned the Rabí rule with the castle of the same name and Kolinec in the 14th century .

The best known representatives are Bušek II von Welhartitz , chamberlain to Emperor Charles IV , and his son of the same name, who held the position of royal court master and marshal.

By marriage, the Welhartitzer were related to the gentlemen von Wartenberg and von Neuhaus , among others .

With Johann von Welhartitz ( Jan / Ješek z Velhartic ), the line is said to have died out in the male line around 1390. The von Neuhaus family presumably inherited his fortune.
