The VIA NOVA ( Latin for 'New Way') is a European pilgrimage route created in July 2004 , which has no specific destination , but rather combines old pilgrimage routes.

The VIA NOVA connects Weltenburg / Kelheim, Bogen in Bavaria, Příbram in the Czech Republic and St. Wolfgang in the Salzkammergut with three main lines and a few side routes .

On September 5, 2010, with the 250 km long section from Vilshofen to Příbram, the Czech Republic was also connected to this pilgrimage network for the first time. This path is not newly created either, but goes back to an old pilgrimage route, which, however, has hardly been used since the Second World War and has only been used more regularly by pilgrims in recent years.

In 2014 the European pilgrimage route via Aufhausen (LK Regensburg) to Weltenburg Kelheim was expanded.
