Mühlheim am Inn is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Ried im Innkreis in the Innviertel with 660 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The community is located in the judicial district of Ried im Innkreis .
geography
Mühlheim am Inn is 343 m above sea level in the Innviertel. The extension is 3.7 km from north to south and 4.9 km from west to east. The total area is 10.9 km². 15.7% of the area is forested, 64.8% of the area is used for agriculture.

Official description of the municipal coat of arms : Under a golden shield head, inside three blue, six-pointed stars, in blue a silver ship's mill with a red mill wheel. The community colors are red-white-blue.
history
Since the founding of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to Austria after the Treaty of Teschen with the Innviertel (then 'Innbaiern'). Briefly Bavarian again during the Napoleonic Wars , since 1814 it has finally belonged to Upper Austria.
After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on March 13, 1938, the place belonged to the Gau Oberdonau . After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria took place.
politics
Mayor is Franz Schöberl (SPÖ). The distribution of mandates in the municipal council is 5 SPÖ, 4 ÖVP and 4 FPÖ.
Population development
In 1991 the municipality had 669 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 it had 649 inhabitants. The decrease occurred in spite of the positive birth balance , as emigration was greater. From 2001 to 2011 the birth balance and migration balance were negative, so that the population fell to 629 people.
Culture and sights
- Mühlheim Castle
- The parish church of Mühlheim am Inn is a Gothic religious building from 1500 with a west tower, a single-nave , three-bay nave and a retracted, lower choir . In the second quarter of the 18th century, the ribs were removed from both Gothic vaults (nave, choir) and the vault was decorated with frescoes and stucco. The high altar (probably at the beginning of the 19th century), the two side altars (around 1670/80) and the pulpit (around 1720) have baroque shapes.
