history
Naming: The name Munderfing refers to the knight Mundolf, who ruled here in the 7th century. The ending -ing indicates a Bavarian settlement.
Since the founding of the Duchy of Bavaria , the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to Austria after the Treaty of Teschen with the Innviertel (then Innbaiern ) . Briefly Bavarian again during the Napoleonic Wars , since 1814 it has finally belonged to the crown land of Austria above the Enns . Since 1918 the place belongs to the federal state of Upper Austria . After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on March 13, 1938, the place belonged to the Gau Oberdonau . In 1945 Upper Austria was restored.
In 2014, around 2 km east of the town center, a wind farm with 5 Vestas V112 wind turbines, each with 3 MW output and 11 m / s wind speed, was built. The masts stand on hills in the forest, the hub height is 140 m each, the rotor diameter 112 m, they have a total height of 194.6 m, making them one of the highest wind turbines in Austria. The operator is Windpark Munderfing GmbH, and citizens also participated in the investment. The components, which weigh up to 72 (75?) T ( mast section ), were transported over a 15% steep, unpaved forest road. The rotors received the 3 blades (12 t) inserted at hub height.
In 2017, a section of the Mattighofen -Munderfing bypass was built as part of the B 147.
