Stocker is a single settlement in the municipality of Munderfing in Upper Austria ( Braunau am Inn district ). The village has 3 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

geography

Stocker is located in the southwest of the municipality of Munderfing and in the northwest of the cadastral municipality of Achenlohe. The village can be reached from the center of the community via the Lochener district road leading to the southwest and a road that branches off into Unterweißau . Neighboring localities are the locality or municipality Jeging in the west, Buch in the north and Unterweißau in the south. The single settlement consists of the Stockingergut (Stocker 1) and the Stockinger-Zuhaus (Stocker 2) as well as a chapel built in 1921 with a weather cross.

Two buildings were counted for Stocker in 2001, with each building having a main residence and three apartments or households. The Stockinger-Gut is an agricultural enterprise.

History and population

The village of Stocker, also Stocka, Stokker, Stockach or Gstocka was first mentioned as Stochke in the 13th century . Further mentions were made in 1324 and 1416 as Stockach. The name of the individual settlement is derived from the root stocks left behind after clearing and thus describes a cleared property. Stocker belonged to the lordship of Mattighofen Kastenamt Mattsee.

In Stocker 16 people lived in two houses in 1869. In 1910 there were 15 residents in two houses. All residents of the village were of the Catholic faith.
