The Digital Upper Austrian Room Information System ( DORIS for short ) provides basic and specialist geographic data on the Province of Upper Austria ( Austria ). Originally it was only available as an intranet application to employees of the state, the district authorities, the road maintenance authorities, etc. In the meantime, the data is also made available to the general public via the Internet, with certain restrictions.

The system is operated by the Geoinformation and Property Department of the Upper Austrian Provincial Government .

history

The digital Upper Austrian room information system was founded in 1991 and initially comprised mainly maps, after which the range was continuously expanded. Orthophotos are updated every three years. The latest application - Clairisa - collects all meteorological data from the last 20 years. From 2017 the apprenticeship geographic information technician can be learned.

The flood risk has been queried since 2013 , and since 2014 the digital Upper Austrian Room Information System has also been made available for mobile devices . It would concentrate on "information that global map services such as Google Maps or Bing Maps can only offer to a limited extent".

The recording of orthophotos of the entire area of ​​Upper Austria could be reduced from 20 years to three years - so there are orthophotos of at least five points in time of every property.

With the help of the digital Upper Austrian room information system , the “center” of the state of Upper Austria was “found” in 2011.
