The Salzkammergut Mountain Bike Trophy (also known as the Salzkammergut Trophy ) is Austria's largest mountain bike marathon with over 4000 participants . The extreme distance of 210 km and 7119 vertical meters is also considered to be the toughest one-day marathon in Europe.

The event has been held annually on the second weekend in July since 1998. There are now seven different competition distances with different levels of fitness and technical requirements. The routes lead through the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt-Dachstein-Salzkammergut . The center of the event as well as the destination of all marathon routes is in Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt . For other route variants, the start is in Obertraun and Bad Ischl .

As part of the Salzkammergut Trophy, other competitions are organized in addition to the XC marathon :

  • SCOTT Junior Trophy for children and teenagers
  • Bosch eMTB challenge for e-bikes
  • Gravel marathon for gravel bikes
  • Unicycle downhill and unicycle marathon for unicycles
